This next sheet from our friends at FCM is a very nice one for 1/144 C-130 Hercules. As usual, it concentrates on the aircraft of Brazil and other South American nations, which is a great choice as there are some very interesting schemes.
For this one, there are two Brazilian schemes, and they are not exactly the same as the larger scale sheet. hree Brazilian schemes so let's begin there. These are both C-130E versions with the first one in white over light grey with the yellow fuselage bands is from 1/6 Grupo de Aviancao at Recife in 1978. Next, in an SEA camouflage scheme is a 1/1 Grupo de Transporte plane based at Rio de Janeiro in 2003.
Next is a plane from Escuadron Aereo #3 at Canelones Uruguay in 1998. This is one of many surplused USAF C-130B aircraft that was sold overseas once they were removed from USAF service. This one is in the Euro 1 scheme.
Next, in overall light grey, is a C-130H with Grupo de Aviacion #10 based at Santiago, Chile in 2010. The only color is in the blue rudder with a white star.
The fifth option is a world away in Oman with the 16th Transportation Squadron at Muscat. This one is in a quasi-desert scheme that includes a couple of greens and a tan. I should add that the sheet includes cockpit and cabin windows in case you wish to model yours with no clear transparencies.
The decals themselves are superbly printed by Microscale and include all of the various cheatlines and wing walk areas that you will require. Complete information on the lengths needed for these is provided. Instructions are three pages that include not only the usual profiles, but both sides for the camouflaged aircraft and the upper side markings for the aircraft as well. A comprehensive data scheme diagram is also included in the pages.
In this scale, we have readily available kits from Minicraft and from A-Model. There is also an old Revell kit around that may well work if you have one. In all, it makes for an outstanding decal sheet with lots of options.
