This next new sheet from Exito Decals covers three fairly colorful Yak-1bs. There are kits available with most choosing the Accurate Miniatures or the Modelsvit offering .

First up is Capt Vladimir Pokrovskiy's plane from the 2nd GIAP with the Northoren Fleet in late 1943. Note that the all but the empenage is in light blue.

Next is Snr. Lt. Garri Merkviladzes 152 GIAP aircraft. This unit was assigned to the Ukranian Front in early 1945. Note that this plane has a different rudder from the norm. Standard greys of the time.

Finally, the aircraft of Snr. Lt. Fotiy Morozov in early 1944. This 31 GIAP plane was on the Ukraine Front.

Decals are superbly printed by Cartograf and this sheet is also available in 1/72 scale. What makes this set truly unique is that each of the markings options' placement diagrams are really full size color prints suitable for framing. The front gives left and right while on the back are upper and underside images as well as notes and sometimes a photo or two of the aircraft in question. Paint references are with AK and Mr Hobby Color, but most brands make the shades used.
