This latest sheet from Fantasy Printshop is for the Mirage III, one of my favorite aircraft. The type was a mainstay of French air defense and saw a considerable number of export sales. Even today the type continues to fly the skies. For kits, you have two choices. One is the incredibly ancient (by plastic standards) Revell offering and the other is the much nicer and considerably newer kit from Italeri.

The first option as shown on the cover is a South African Mirage IIIEZ based at Waterkloof in 1972. This 3 squadron plane sin in olive drab and deep buff over light admiralty grey.

Second is a Mirage IIIO of the Pakistani Air Force. The Australians sold most of their Mirage IIIOs to Pakistan once the type was taken out of RAAF Service and this is one of them. This 7 Squadron plane is in the two grey's scheme of FS 36118 and FS 36270.

Next up is a French Mirage IIIE from EC 2/4 'Lafayette' based at Luxeuil in the 1980s. It has the standard scheme of dark green and dark grey over painted aluminum.

Fourth is a second Pakistani Mirage IIIO from 7 squadron in the 1990s. What makes this plane interesting is that is has a set of wings that were purchased from South Africa to replace the ones on a few of the IIIOs that were beyond economical repair. Makes for an interesting model with the grey fuselage and olive/buff wings. .

The final option is an Australian IIIO from 75 squadron in 1981. It is one of the many grey variations tried on RAAF Mirages in the last years of their use.

The decal sheet is superbly printed and provides all the unique markings for all five options.
