This
particular sheet is for the Israeli F-16C/D or Barak as both these variants
are known in Israel. This sheet was researched by Ra'anan Weiss, the same
fellow who is responsible for Isradecals. As such, you can be assured that
the references are top notch and accurate.
All of
these planes are from different units and painted in the current standard
scheme of FS 30219 tan, 34424 green, and 33531 sand over 36375 light grey
with 26270 radomes. It is mentioned that the sand decals are matched to
Testors Model Master #1706 so you may want to consider using that paint to
get a proper match when you paint your model. I should note that the decals
for the test squadron (the orange stripes on the fin) are a bit darker than
what appears on the profile and closer to red than to orange. Apparently
the printer didn't have the proper shade in their catalog to replicate this
color, a real problem when it comes to decals nowadays as printers rarely
do custom shades anymore.
Anyway, it is a great sheet with markings for 6 different aircraft; 4 F-16Cs and 2 F-16 Ds. For those who have not had an easily available decal sheet for Israeli F-16s, this one will fill the bill nicely.
There are enough insignia to do three planes and enough stencils to do one. I should also point out that the stencils are only appropriate for the planes as initially delivered. When the aircraft went through their first repaint, all the English data stencils were replaced with those in Hebrew.
