This is, to my knowledge, Eagle Strike's first F9F sheet. It is for the recently reissued Revell-Monogram kit. Eagle Strike has included the bare metal leading edges and wing roots as decals. They admit that it might be easier just to paint and mask these areas, but it is nice to have them included for those who want to give the decals a try.

First is the frequently done 'Blue Tail Fly' from VF-153. This plane was a mating of a bare metal front section with a sea blue tail section. Several aircraft types were tried without paint but with a sealer that was supposed to stop corrosion and save some money on paint. It wasn't as successful as hoped so as a result, all Naval aircraft have been fully painted ever since.

Second is a very nice overall sea blue plane from VF-154, a unit that is still flying and currently with the F-14 Tomcat, though that will soon change.

Finally, a VF-781 plane from the late Korean war period as well. As with the 154 jet, all the color parts are supplied as decals.
