NOTES:

A model that most of us have in our stashes is the Testors/Hawk 1/48 U-2. The Hawk boxings are going to be the U-2A while most of the Testors kits will be U-2C as Testors modified the A kit to make a C version. Most of us think of the U-2 as being in basic black, but that is not at all the case and the plane has flown in a goodly number of colors. U-2s were also modified throughout their life and so one has to be careful when choosing a scheme to include those mods done for it at that time. Many of the schemes here will require some modification, but not a problem as Cutting Edge provides modification sets to help you with your specific project.

There are three aircraft that can be done in the Light and Dark Grey scheme as used by the 100 SRW in the UK during 1973-75. All these are U-2Cs.

For the CIA U-2As, there are two marking options. Though many of us have thought these planes in black, they were actually painted a very dark blue. ANA 607 (FS 35042) is the closest match.

From the 4080 SRW on deployment to Vietnam is a black U-2F with the 'stag horn' antennas.

Finally, a NASA U-2C in white and FS 36495 light grey.

That is a total of seven different options, more than enough for most of us
