Cutting Edge 32080: Big Stud Ponies Pt 1

354 and 355 FG

Scott Van Aken

Now for some large scale sheets for the P-51D Mustang. There are three recommended kits; Dragon, Hasegawa and Monogram. Though there are subtle shape differences in the three, these markings are not kit specific. Both options are unpainted metal with olive drab anti-glare panels.

The 353 FS/354 FG aircraft was piloted by Glenn Eagleston and carries his eagle marking and kill tally. A fine set for those who don't want to put a lot of work into painting a model as only the tip of the nose and the spinner are in yellow.

The other is 'Man O War from the 355FGs commander, C. Kinnard. This one has some complex uper surface Olive Drab markings. The sheet states that there is a mask for this scheme available (CEBM32093) to assist with painting this one. Red spinner, forward nose and radio mast. To provide no registration problems, the code letters are separate.

There are insignia for one aircraft and the  instructions are very nicely done. They include a full set of camouflage drawings and background information on each aircraft.
