NOTES:

Here is the second new sheet from Cutting Edge for the new Trumpeter Corsair. It includes sufficient insignia for one plane and provides prop decals for three of them. The kit decals are not bad so you can use those for insignia should you build more than one Corsair.

First up is the FG-1D on the sheet from HQSS-22 on Ie Shima during June 1945. This overall sea blue Corsair has a very nice nose art on it. The sheet states that it is unknown if these markings were on both sides except for 'black 8'. Well, there is no 'black 8' on the sheet so I'm not sure if it belongs on both sides or not. Your choice.

Next up is another overall sea blue Corsair, but an F4U-1A as are all the rest on the sheet. This one is from VMF-217 during September 1944 and also includes nose art. Note that the tip of the fin is in white. as is the prop hub, the tip of the fuselage and the tips of the horizontal stabilizers.

The tricolor Corsair is from VMF-222 on Samar during March of 1944. It has a nice USMC/Seabees badge on the cowling.

Finally, another sea blue Corsair from VMF-122 with an ace of hearts painted on the cowling. The central panel in the fin is painted white.

Four very nice choices. Now hopefully they will do a couple of -4 sheets in time for me to use them on my build!
