This new sheet from Caracal Models provides markings for 14 early C-130s in a wide variety of markings. The recommended kit is the new one from Zvezda though these should also fit the Italeri and Airfix offerings. I should point out that there are differences between the C-130H, which is the Zvezda kit, and those on the sheet. The to biggest ones are that the right sponson is longer and there is a large box intake on the right side under the nose. If you remove the box intake and the prominent intake on the right sponson, that should take care of the major airframe differences. I've also heard that the engine nacelles on the H are longer, but cannot verify that.

Several of these options will require aftermarket bits. Specifically those with the upper fuselage radome, the different nose on those planes, and the ski equipment on one of the options. These are available from Flightpath and other aftermarket producers.

There are fourteen options on this sheet, including;

C-130E Hercules 62-1838, 1501st ATW, Military Air Transport Service

C-130E Hercules 63-7834, 438th MAW

C-130E Hercules 63-7841, 314th TAW

C-130E Hercules 70-1270, 317th TAW

C-130E Hercules 64-18240, 435th TAW (1980s desert camo)

WC-130E Hercules 64-0553 , 53rd WRS

HC-130N Hercules 59-5827

JC-130B Hercules 58-0750, 6594th Test Group (Corona satellite catcher)

C-130E Hercules 70-1275, 317th TAW

C-130E Hercules 63-7861, 316th TAW

C-130E Hercules 64-18240 "Payback Time", 435th TAW (Operation Desert Storm)

C-130E Hercules 63-7776 "Arkansas Dreaming", 314th TAW (Operation Desert Storm)

C-130E Hercules 64-0539, 416th TAW

LC-130D Hercules 57-0493, New York Air National Guard

The sheet is superbly printed by Cartograf and appears to offer enough common markings for many of the aircraft.
