I think this is a great subject for a new sheet from Caracal Models. The C-21A has been in the USAF inventory since the mid 1980s, doing a yeoman's job of providing VIP transportation as well as moving high priority parts and people throughout the US and overseas. The 375th Wing at nearby Scott AFB has basically been the main C-21 unit for the US, offering detachments all over the US. At one time it was decided to provide various flights at locales such as Colorado Springs, and at the time, the C-21 fleet sprouted all sorts of tail codes and tail bands for whereever the detachment was located. Oddly, those based at Scott AFB never had the base name in the tail band, always simply having either MAC or AMC tail bands. Over the years since the mid 1990s, there have been some ANG units who have converted entirely to the C-21A. This includes a pair of aircraft included in this sheet. Probably soon due for replacement, as of yet, there has not been one.
This sheet offers six different options, all in overall white with blue cheat line. The sheet also includes an additional window decal as the kit lacks a window on the right side.
The aircraft provided are the 81 TRW (KS tail code), 12 FTW (RA tail code), 76AS (USAFE tail band and no US insignia), 200 AS, Colorado ANG with Colorado tail band, 118 AS, Connecticut ANG, and finally the 177 AS, North Dakota ANG with 'Happy Hooligans' tail band. No dates are provided so one assumes these are all current as of 2015.
The sheet comes with full color color and markings diagram along with a few notes on each plane. There are enough insignia for one plane and this includes the fuselage and tank stripes. The decals are printed by Microscale and the only kit available is by Hasegawa, which has been reboxed by Revell.
Just in case you might be interested in using this sheet to produce a plane not included, here are a number of other possibilities, including the HW coded plane that uses the United State of America logo and no insignia.
