Nice things come in pairs and so it is with this next sheet from Caracal Models. This is part 2 of their ANG T-33 sheets and as mentioned in the last review, there is no specified kit and I'm unaware of any new kits on the horizon so the modeler has a choice between the old Hawk kit that has been reissued by Testors in the past, or the newer Hobbycraft kit, itself at least 15 years old. Also as in the last review, these planes are all in overall ADC Grey (FS 16473) with black nose anti-glare panels. Basically an easy paint. All of these schemes are from the 1980s before the type was retired from service during 1988/89.

First option is from the 119 FIS, New Jersey ANG. The tip tanks are listed as Fluorescent Red, but I think this was probably International Orange as that was the norm for these applications. Check your references as I could be mistaken about this.

Next is a nice plane from the 178 FIS, North Dakota ANG in 1975. This Happy Hooligans plane has red outer tip tanks. A second option for this unit is provided that has a simple tail band without the red outer tanks. This one is the same plane and is from 1983.

The next one up is from the 123 FIS, Oregon ANG in 1984. A standard set of markings with their red bird emblem on the fin.

Finally, from 1986, a 111 FIS Texas ANG plane. This one has the large 'Texans' logo on the fuselage.

As a final note, Caracal Models offers markings for the F-4C/D aircraft operated by these units as well so it will make a nice comparison to have both the primary aircraft and their hacks in the same markings.

There are enough insignia and data markings for one aircraft. The sheet also includes wing walk markings, a nice touch. You should be able to glean additional insignia from the kit markings to do more. The decals themselves are superbly printed by Cartograf and the full color instruction booklet provides all the information you need to complete your kit. In all an excellent sheet for the T-33.
