For their second ANG Phantom II sheet Caracal Models has chosen some more ANG planes. Most of the ones on this sheet are in overall FS 16473 ADC Grey. As with the earlier sheet, there is only one kit available in this scale for the F-4C/D and that is the one by Tamiya. There are four different units on this sheet.

First up is an F-4C from the 123 FIS, Oregon ANG in 1987, the last year that the unit flew these planes. This aircraft is a MiG killer and named 'Red Baron'.

The second option is one of the nicest schemes applied to a Phantom. This one is an F-4D from the 179 FIS, Minnesota ANG during 1985.

Option three is the mud mover in the group, hence the Euro 1 camouflage scheme. It is an F-4C with the 182 TFS, Texas ANG. This particular plane was Robin Olds' 'Scat XVIII', hence the two MiG kills. This plane is currently at the USAF Museum.

Finally, an F-4D from the 171 FIS, Michigan ANG in 1986. This aircraft is wearing a short lived tail marking, before they returned to the black and yellow checker design. I've seen photos of aircraft in the Euro 1 camouflage scheme wearing this same tail logo. Check your references for serial numbers if deciding to go that route.

There are enough insignia, data markings and USAF logos for one aircraft. You should be able to glean additional insignia from the kit markings to do more. The decals themselves are superbly printed by Microscale and the full color instruction booklet provides all the information you need, including a data placement guide, to complete your kit.
