Recently I purchased the Ark models La-11 and already have the La-9 kit, both in 1/48 scale. While the kit markings are OK, I wanted a broader choice and that is what I get with this set.
In total there are 29 options provided. You get 13 La-9, 4 two seat La-9UTI, and 12 La-11. The overwhelming number are either Soviet or Chinese with North Korean, Bulgarian, and Indonesian planes tossed into the mix. I've provided a sample of La-9 and La-11 profiles.
In addition to specific aircraft, you are provided a selection of fuselage numbers so that you can do others. The vast majority are in overall blue-grey with some having an upper surface olive. A couple are in red. Note that the blue-grey shades shown are not all the same with some being a bit lighter than standard.
The decals are very nicely done and if you have used Begemot decals in the past, you know that they work well and are thin. In addition to the multiple markings options, you get a full stencil suite. It appears that you get four full sets along with a few other sets in the mix. The instructions provide a nice historical background in both Russian and English as well as a comprehensive stencil placement guide for those who want to use them all.
I doubt there is a better set out there for these planes and if you are building either type, this is a set you may well wish to consider getting.
