NOTES:

This is the first sheet I've seen from a Slovenian company called Balkan Models. The sheet itself is superbly printed and offers enough data markings for one subject and enough insignia for two.

This particular sheet covers no fewer than seven different aircraft which are basically differentiated by their serial number. The notes in the back of the full color instruction sheet state that these were delivered with Russian stencils and when overhauled, the planes were painted silver. This means silver lacquer to this kid, so one apparently has the option of doing the pre-overhaul bare metal or the post overhaul painted aluminum.

Then instructions offer a full data placement guide as well as a paint chart that lists over a half dozen paint brands, a nice touch. The recommended kit for this is the very nice Revell 1/72 MiG-21F-13 that should still be available, though you could probably use others as well.

I'm not sure of availability of this sheet as of yet as the Balkan Models web site at www.balkanmodels.si is not yet up and running, but it certainly is a superb sheet and one you should seriously consider. Were I to offer a bit of advice to Balkan Models it would be to include a bit of cardboard in with the packing to protect the sheet. Mine arrived in a bubble bag and was quite mangled by the trip.

Thanks to Balkan Models for the review sheet. Ask your local shop to get this one for you when it is available or keep checking the link.
