Once more, Aztec has produced a sheet of a South American Air Force. This time concentrating on Ecuador. Like the previous sheet on Peru, it has a number of very interesting camouflage schemes. Several of these aircraft were used in the many border skirmishes with neighboring Peru that have taken place over the last decade or so, and have often pitted aircraft of the same type against each other.

As with all Aztec sheets, this one has crisp, vibrant printing with no registration glitches. The instruction sheet is in full color and shows not only decal placement, but color information (with FS numbers) and suggested kits (some of which, unfortunately, are rather difficult to find!).

The Mirage F.1JA  gives the opportunity to model a pair of Sukhoi killers with aircraft that have shot down Peruvian Su-22s. The A-37 Dragonfly is next, and like most Ecuadorian tactical aircraft is minimally marked. Not minimally marked are the six options for various Alouette III helicopters for both the Air Force and Naval units. Finally are markings for the Strikemaster. Like the A-37, there are options that will require some painting of markings to duplicate, but nothing beyond the abilities of more seasoned modelers.

If you have any interest at all in the aircraft of Latin American air forces, this is a sheet that should be in your collection. As with other Aztec sheets, this one is also available in 1/72 scale.
