This latest sheet from Aviaeology is for the PV-1 Ventura. Recently, there have been significant profiles and additional information on the Ventura in the IPMS Canada R/T magazine, and many of these markings are from those pages. This particular sheet covers eleven aircraft from 34 OTU, test units, or US visitors. For 1/72 modelers, your lone choice is the somewhat old but still very nice Academy kit. These can be easily found at most stores or from vendors at shows. Some will need to be modified i various ways and the instructions provide you complete information on what is needed to duplicate the options provided.

From 34 OTU we have *01 'Vivian from Late 1943 in RAF type camo. Next is EX*Y, another B.II variants from late 1942. *B2 is named 'The Blissville jinx' and is a B.IIA version in RAF camo like the first two. *S2 is 'Fancy Juggler' from early 1944 and is in the USAAF scheme of OD and neutral grey. Finally, A GR.V version *K2 named 'What did I do?",  in the USN scheme of blue-grey over light grey.

We then have two visiting USN planes. One from VP-82 based in Argentia in overall white. The other is in blue-grey over light grey from VP-82 as well, this time it can be built sporting a kill marking.

The last four planes are test aircraft and all B.II variants. Two of them are RCAF ski-test plane. The instructions provide plans for duplicating these skis. The other two were used for ASW radar testing and again, you are provided plans for the antennas. These aircraft all sport a variety of different schemes.

The instructions are superb and not only provide specific information and drawings on each aircraft, but in most cases, also provide photographs of the aircraft in question. This is an excellent set of decals and perfect to get the modeling juices flowing.
