NOTES:

This second of their 1/24 Hurricane sheets covers the aircraft of two famous Hurricane pilots. These subjects are the same as on previous 1/72 and 1/48 sheets, but due to the size of the markings, has been limited in scope. There are a wide selection of roundels and fin flashes, though one can really only build one of the three options without some help from the kit or aftermarket. Frankly, I cannot see many doing more than one 1/24 Hurricane. For kits, the Airfix and Trumpeter ones will probably be what most will choose.

In this set, there are three planes coded LK*A from 87 Squadron as flown by I. 'Widge' Gleed. One is from June of 1940 and another from August of 1940 when based in Exeter. The third is the night fighter markings when based at Colerne in February of 1941. The dull red insignia bits are included in the set.l

The other aircraft is the one piloted by J.B. Nicholson, VC when based at Boscome Down in August of 1940 with 249 Squadron. There is some confusion as to the fuselage roundel size so both large and small options are provided for this subject.

The instructions are quite comprehensive and provide views of both sides as well as notes on each aircraft. As often times the photos of these planes are only of one side or only partial, some information is speculative, but all options are provided to the builder.

The decals themselves are superbly printed with no registration glitches and vibrant colors. You'll notice that the darker red is provided in case you think it more likely. Not much has been done in 1/24 scale so this one should be most welcome.
