This sheet from Aviaeology is really very cool and as with many of their products, focuses on aircraft operated in Canada. In this case it is those performing the rather thankless job of coastal protection and anti-submarine patrols. However, most of these aircraft are ones that were successful in the U-boat hunting. I did not see any reference to a kit in this set, so I have to assume that the only ones out there are the old Airfix kit as well as the MPM kit which has been reboxed by Italeri and Revell. It would be nice if Airfix added this to their program of retooling older favorites.

Aviaeology has gone to great lengths to ensure that the modeler can produce the most accurate representation of the subject that is possible. The result is a wealth of research information and drawings that will allow all the various differences in antennas and equipment to be duplicated by the modeler. This is especially true of ASW planes as the field rapidly changed throughout the war. All of this is accompanies by photos of the actual aircraft to assist in building the model.

So here is what is on the sheet

Hudson Mk.I of 145 Squadron

PBO-1 Hudsons 82-P8 and 82-P9 of VP 82

Hudson Mk.IIIs LM*S,C,L,B,and K of 113 Squadron

These aircraft carry a wide variety of schemes as you can see from the cover sheet. It is this variety that makes the subject so interesting.

The sheet itself is superbly printed  and from the look of things, you can do three planes from the sheet if you choose your markings wisely.  Note that there are additional red bits for the RCAF markings as there is considerable evidence that the shade of red used for Canadian planes differed from the standard RAF color. You have a choice of which you would prefer to utilize.
