APC Decals R72071:  K-65 Čáp

There are times when we want to build a classic kit, but for various reasons, we discover that the kit decals are toast or incorrect in some way or another. This is another of APC Decals' nice replacement set (hence the 'r' in the sheet number).

This particular set is for the SMER kit. I'm going to assume that this is the Heller kit, but I don't know for sure. The K-65 is simply a Czech built Fieseler Storch. It was not uncommon for the Germans to have non-combat aircraft built in occupied territory and a goodly number of this type of aircraft were built in Czechoslovakia. This sheet contains markings for two aircraft. From my research it seems like the civil aircraft was in overall silver while I'm sure the military one was in dark green over light blue. Though designed for the SMER kit, I'm sure it will work on any 1/72 Storch. These decals are printed with a single carrier so the builder will need to cut out each separate marking, a small price to pay for getting good decals. These do not come with instructions. I have used APC's decals in the past and can recommend them for clarity and opacity.
