The latest sheet from AIMS is the first they have done in 1/48 and it coincides with the reissue of the very nice Cyberhobby 1/48 Ju088G-6. It is therefore, understandable that the bulk of these planes are G-6 versions. In fact, there are 14 markings options, made possible as late war German night fighters were generally distinguished more by variants in camouflage and equipment than they were in other codes.

In fact, there is so much in terms of information in the six page markings guide, that it would be a bit much to repeat all of that in the review, but I have pinched the basics from the AIMS web site.

16. Mistel S-3 Wk Nr 460065

17. Mistel S-3 Wk Nr 460066 plus markings for Fw 190

Needless to say, they are a base coat of RLM 76 with all sorts of mottlings and squiggles, most of the splotches being in RLM 75, but there were a lot of variables. For instance, not all had the upper fuselage guns in the same place as there were multiple possibilities. Some had black wing undersides and others were densely mottled. All of the pertinent information on each set of markings is provided as well as any reference material so you can check up on certain markings yourself. Not much in the way of upper surface info is provided, but what is know is offered.

In addition to the 14 night fighter options, there are two for the Mistel S3, both of these found at the Junkers plant near the end of the war. For this, the Dragon kit is needed and while not currently in their catalogue, it isn't impossible to find.

The decals themselves are superbly printed by Cartograf so you know you are getting the best there is. A fun set of stencils and walk areas are provided. There are enough insignia for one aircraft, but this isn't a problem as Dragon decals are generally pretty good.

AIMS has done us all a huge favor by providing all these optional markings for us. A fine sheet with a number of interesting options.
