Adding to the now rather huge collection of decal sheets that your editor is amassing is this one on foreign Hurricanes. The Hurricane saw widespread use with a number of countries as not only was it used by Allies and neutral nations during the war, the earlier versions were exported to a number of countries prior to the start of hostilities.

This particular sheet covers 7 different countries (two not shown as profiles). All are either Hurricane I, IIb or IIc variants. The difference between the IIb and IIc is armament with the IIc carrying four cannons and the IIb having machine guns. Differentiating the Hurricane I types will require more research. I'd like to think that they are all metal winged planes, but wouldn't bet on it. Let's start with those for which I have profiles.

The first is a Soviet IIb from 1942. It is in the later green/grey/grey scheme with yellow wing ID bands that were standard on RAF fighters of the time.

Next is a IIc from 1 Sq of the Indian AF. This is the same scheme that comes with the Heller 1/72 Hurricane IIc kit, but since the Heller decals are so poor, these make an excellent replacement.

A Finnish Hurricane I from 1943 is next in standard Finnish colors of black and green over light blue-grey. You are given two complete sets of serials for this plane; one in green and one in black so you can cut them as needed to match the camo scheme.

From the Rumanian AF is the next Hurricane. This is painted in an early scheme of dark green/earth uppers with black and white split undersides. This one may have fabric wings. It also has full Eastern Front yellow nose, wing tips and fuselage band.

The final profile plane is an Irish Air Corps Hurricane I. This is in dark green and earth over light blue grey.

Not shown are a Free French IIb in desert colors with an Aboukir filter. Also not shown is a Jugoslav IIc, also in desert colors of midstone, dark earth over azure with a sky fuselage band. It also carries the Aboukir filter.

The Hurricane is well represented in 1/72 so pick your favorite kit and have at it!
