Aeromaster 48-290: Carrier Based Avengers part 2

This sheet has markings for three, mostly tri-color painted TBM-1C/3 Avengers Recommended kit is by Accurate Miniatures, which has also been released by Italeri, among others. I guess you could use the ancient Monogram kit as well, but I'm not really sure which variant it is supposed to portray.

The initial option is a VT(N)-90 TBM-3 aboard the USS Enterprise in March of 1945. Typical of the night attack planes, it has the flame damper exhaust and black undersides with mostly black lettering. .

Second is a TBM-1C from VC-21 aboard CVE-77, USS Marcus Island.

Third up is a TBM-3 from VC-82. It was operated aboard CVE-72, USS Tulagi.

The last option is in overall gloss sea blue. It was assigned to VT-82 aboard the USS Bennington in April 1945.

In all, a nice selection of options. Not exactly bursting with color, but then that was pretty typical of USN aircraft of the time. The flame damper exhaust are available from Ultracast.
