PRICE: $15.00 MSRP
REVIEWER: Scott Van Aken
NOTES: Includes detailed stencil guide and notes

Decal sheet makers love special markings and this one provides you with the 'boss birds' of three of the numbered Air Forces in the USAF. This sheet is designed for the new Tamiya kit and though it will fit the Hasegawa version, you'll find that there are differences in the sweep of the tail and the size of the IFR door between the two that will prevent a perfect fit on the Hasegawa version.

The 5th AF aircraft is an F-16CJ CCIP block 50 aircraft, as is the 9th AF plane. The 12th AF plane is an F-16CG block 40 variant.

The decals are very nicely done and included are some detail markings along with some white backgrounds. There are enough markings on the sheet to allow you to do two full aircraft. I have to say that the block tail markings/serials look to me to be too dark a grey and in fact, appear to be nearly the same color as the black shading for the 9th and 12th AF aircraft. They appear to be much lighter when looking at the full color decal placement guide.

Regardless, it is a superb sheet and one that I'm sure that will find a lot of favor with the F-16 crowd. As there are a total of 17 numbered Air Forces, I'm sure that we'll be seeing others in this series.
