NOTES: | Three options |
While searching for something else, I ran across this sheet for Spanish F-104Gs. This is not a sheet that I bought but apparently came with a batch I bought many years ago. The instructions are written in Spanish, though it is fairly easy to understand what goes where. I have no idea just how old these may be, but they do not look all that recent, thanks to the light buff decal paper. Were I to use this sheet for a build, I'd test markings that wouldn't be used.
The sheet offers three code options and two serial numbers. Aircraft C8-1 could be coded either 161-11 or 104-1. The other aircraft, C8-7 is coded 104-7. Both aircraft are painted in a light grey with white wings. I'm going to go out on a limb and state that the light grey may well be ADC grey, but I'm probably wrong. Aircraft C8-1 has a mostly bare metal aft fuselage. There are several metal shades shown in the instructions. Personally, I'd look for 'net images to help out on this. Note that the rudder is white and you are provided a black stripe to do the X that fits on there. No kit is recommended, but the way these markings are, any 1/48 F-104G will be suitable.
The sheet is nicely printed and you are provided a complete stencil application guide as these planes were festooned with them.
