Twobobs 48-025 for F-14B Tomcats

Units: VF-24

Scott Van Aken

Here is a very interesting Tomcat sheet wherein the subjects were painted in desert schemes using a tempera acrylic water color bought in a local school supply store. For that reason, the FS colors given are approximate. Those areas not painted with these colors are the standard TPS colors used on the F-14.

Both of these aircraft are named, the first being 'Thief of Baghdad' and the second being 'Camel Smoker'. Since the markings were temporary, they covered all the normal stencil markings and insignia so only those unpainted or on the bottom were left.

A nice touch, thanks to the lack of common markings, is that both 1/72 and 1/48 scale markings are on this particular sheet. The nose art is given both as a single decal and as a layered one for those that want to make sure that registration is spot on.
