HISTORY
Anthony Wayne Stewart (born May 20, 1971), nicknamed "Smoke", is an American professional auto racing driver, and former NASCAR team co-owner of Stewart–Haas Racing. He currently competes in the NHRA Top Fuel class for Tony Stewart Racing. He is a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, winning two as a driver (2002, 2005), one as owner/driver (2011), and one as an owner (2014).
Throughout his racing career, Stewart has won racing titles in Indy, midget, sprint, and USAC Silver Crown cars. He is the only driver in history to win a championship in both IndyCar and NASCAR. Stewart became known for his hot temper and for his sarcasm with the media. Recently, Stewart moved to drag racing and has been successful in that branch of motor sport.
THE KIT
This is one of the later NASCAR kits from Revell. While much is identical from the previous offerings from Monogram, it is obvious that Revell retained the designers from Monogram when it came to NASCAR car kits.
While the engine is pretty much the same, as is the chassis. The interior has a few differences in terms of the roll cage and the driver's seat. A driver figure is also included to fill the seat if you so desire. The running gear is pretty much the same as in previous kits. The squared off exhaust is different from previous kits.
Under the hood are a few changes such as the bracing.
There are metal pins for the front axles and a solid rod for the rear. A final
new item for this kit are the tubing for adjusting the springs and the track bar
that attach to the rear window.

Instructions are well done with generic color information. All of the parts are named and the drawings are clear. A single livery option for the box art #20 car are included. They are nicely printed and despite being 20 years old, should work without issue. I particularly like that the kit includes a seat harness and that the black area around the windows as well as some of the black trim is on the sheet. Other areas of black will need to be painted.
CONCLUSIONS
As most of you know, old NASCAR kits can often be found for a very reasonable price. If you like racing cars and want a fairly trouble-free build, then I suggest you check out the vendors at your next show as I'm sure you will see quite a few.
