NOTES:

I always look forward to the next edition of IPMS Canada's RT and the summer edition managed to make it through the international mails unscathed. As is the norm, this one is 44 full color pages and includes six very well done articles, chock full of images and with a nice write-up.

In the last issue, a new editor in chief was introduced and with this one the look of the magazine has changed. You see this from the cover page where all the articles have equal footing. Inside, there are the usual articles. Those are pretty much the same in terms of having a goodly number of images showing how the kit was produced. The major difference is that at the end of each article are pages of just images of the completed subject.

First up is David Mielke's Canadair Sabre Mk.5. David used the1/48 Hasegawa kit and did the few mods required to do this variant. David also later builds a Tamiya 1/48 Mosquito NF.XIII, choosing to portray a 410 Squadron plane.

The next article is the one that impressed me the most in terms of the sheer amount of work that went into it. This is Brian Kerr's Italeri 1/24 B.C. road maintenance Western Star snow plow. You have to read the article to appreciate this one.

Then we have Brian Jones' 1/25 Honda chopper. Brian did a lot of additional work to get this one right.

John Lumley's 1/48 HK Models Lancaster was built to honor brother-in-law who was a tail gunner. John shoveled a lot of aftermarket into the kit to make an impressive presentation.

Finally a ship model. This was Ian Moore's Hasegawa 1/350 HMS Nabob. This also took a lot of work to get right and required major bits from the Trumpeter Liberty Ship.

Another fine edition and one I look forward to every quarter. So, you are wondering, just how do I get this great club magazine. Well, it is simple. Just trade boring money for full color magazines. IPMS Canada is a great group of people so you will be in very good company. Can't get much better than that.

But wait, there is more. If you join, you also get the electronic Beaver Tales delivered straight to your computer.
