NOTES:

I've been a member of IPMS Canada since volume 27. That makes 20 years with the organization, and I have to say that even though I've never attended a meeting, I feel they are the best modeling group around. Members are always willing to help out and the national group is just a fine group of people who are more interested in having the hobby move forward than in group politics.

This edition continues R/Ts fine selection of articles with a couple of more unusual ones that showcase newer areas of the hobby.

First up is a super Revell 1/72 Shackleton MR.3 by George Wray. This is not the reboxed Frog kit, but a much newer tool. George had done considerable work on the interior of this one.

Tim Utton worked on the fairly old Revell 1/48-ish Dune Ornithopter. This one is based on the 1984 movie which was a bit of a disappointment in many regards, though visually stunning. Again, more interior work to bring the kit up to more desirable standards.

The third one is Geoff Heyland's 1/32 Matchbox Lysander. Once more a lot of effort was put into providing a convincing interior for this one, complete with framework. Geoff duplicated the target tug as in the CWH Museum.

Moving on to crawly things is a very nicely done Accurate Armor 1/35 Ferret by Mark Minnis. This article is accompanied by some photos of the real deal.

A nicely done 28mm Games Workshop Warhammer Dreadnought figure is next. Jarrett McIntyre not only did a fine job painting this one, but also provided an appropriate base for it.

The final article is undoubtedly the most impressive in terms of the amount of work involved. Jason Williams built a hangar diorama to hold his 1/100 Gundam Virtue. Gundams have been a major area of popularity with newer modelers and our local IPMS chapter has included the category for our next open contest. I am sure that you'll be impressed by this one as was I. If you have never done one of these figures, you might want to consider it as they are fun builds.

Another fine edition and one I look forward to every quarter. So, you are wondering, just how do I get this great club magazine. Well, it is simple. Just trade boring money for full color magazines. IPMS Canada is a great group of people so you will be in very good company. Can't get much better than that.

But wait, there is more. If you join, you also get the electronic Beaver Tales delivered straight to your computer.
