Random Thoughts 45/1

NOTES:

The latest addition of Random Thoughts has arrived with the start of Spring (at least that is what the calendar states). This edition has extra pages in it to handle the six articles within. I recommend reading the editorial as it hits upon some issues one discovers when dealing with social media.

To start off this eclectic selection we have Barry Maddin's Imai 1/12 Kaiser Maximilian II figure, fully clad in armor. A great way to get started in figure modeling.

Next is a neat conversion that looks to be fairly straightforward and easy to do. Martin Bendsoe builds an Attack Models 1/72 GMC Fox armored car using their Humber kit.

I'm really digging Barry Maddin's AMT 1/25 John Deere 310 backhoe. His weathering on this one is really quite well done and realistic.

Fourth up is the first aircraft article and is Wayne Beattie's 1/48 Airfix Sea Fury. Naturally it is an RCN aircraft and has a ton of aftermarket.

Frank Cudden builds the Fujimi 1/72 TA-4F Skyhawk in an interesting experimental high visibility scheme.

Finally, Frank also does a Matchbox 1/72 F-86A Sabre. He kitbashes this with an Academy Sabre to enhance the Matchbox kit's rather Spartan detail. It turns it into a real beauty.

Another fine edition and one I look forward to every quarter. So, you are wondering, just how do I get this great club magazine. Well, it is simple. Just trade uncolorful money for full color magazines. IPMS Canada is a great group of people so you will be in very good company. Can't get much better than that.

But wait, there is more. If you join, you also get the electronic Beaver Tales delivered straight to your computer, and you can get the periodic decal sheets that are only provided to members.
