NOTES: |
Despite closed borders, the latest edition of IPMS Canada's Random Thoughts arrived in the mails the other day. As usual, there are some excellent articles within. As usual, each has a plethora of photos to help those who wish to try to duplicate these efforts.
The main cover photo is Wayne Beattie's Mustang I. Wayne used the Accurate miniatures kit along with Ultracast bits to do this effective, but simple conversion.
Next is a nice air superiority blue F-15A from the early years. Andrew White used the Hasegawa kit for this project.
Third is a Wingnut Wings 1/32 Albatros D.Va. Gary Barling did this one and shows that careful construction will make these kits real gems.
My personal favorite is Pico Elgin's 1/24 Labatt's White Streamliner. Lots of scratchbuilding went into this beauty.
Finall, a vignette from Operation Frankton, the British commando raid on German shipping in France. Barry Maddin has done a superb job with this effective presentation.
Another fine edition and one I look forward to every quarter. So, you are wondering, just how do I get this great club magazine. Well, it is simple. Just trade uncolorful money for full color magazines. IPMS Canada is a great group of people so you will be in very good company. Can't get much better than that, eh?
But wait, there is more. If you join, you also get the electronic Beaver Tales delivered straight to your computer.
