This next edition of MMP's Singles series is on the Hurricane IIC. After the Battle of Britain, it was realized that the Hurricane was no longer as potent a fighter as was the Spitfire in the western European theater. However, the airframe was rugged and it was a very stable gun platform. It was decided to turn the type into a fighter bomber and to that extent, it was armed with four 20mm canon. This worked quite well and it was used to great extent in the north African desert as well as hit and run sorties over France. It was also effective in areas where there was limited or no air opposition and as such soldiered on until the end of the war.

In line with the other releases, this one is in the large A4 size with several distinct sections. There is no history of the type, but there are superbly done plans in both 1/48 and 1/72 scale. The book includes a goodly number of illustrations of various parts of the plane from technical manuals along with photos showing the entire aircraft and some details. The book finishes up with large, full page color views of an 87 Squadron aircraft in 1942.

It is another great addition to the MMP family of books that offers all that both the modeler and the enthusiast are seeking in a plans/detail book on a specific aircraft without going into a ton of detail. I found it be well done and one that I can highly recommend to you.
