This next edition of MMP's Singles series is on the Mustang III. THis was a P-51B that was modified to British standards. One of the major external differences was that many used the one piece canopy called a Malcolm Hood that required canopy rails installed. Also of note in the drawings, it states that these planes did not have the fuselage tank. I guess they were not needed as RAF Mustangs were not used for long range bomber escort.
In line with the other releases, this one is in the large A4 size with several distinct sections. There is no history of the type, but there are superbly done plans in both 1/48 and 1/72 scale. The book includes a goodly number of illustrations of various parts of the plane from technical manuals along with photos showing the entire aircraft and some details. The book finishes up with large, full page color views of Stanislaw Skalski's aircraft when he was Wing Commander of 133 Wing in mid 1944.
It is another great addition to the MMP family of books that offers all that both the modeler and the enthusiast are seeking in a plans/detail book on a specific aircraft without going into a ton of detail. I found it be well done and one that I can highly recommend to you.
