Most of us are aware of the color profiles of Richard Caruana and so it is nice to see a book that features his work. This is the fifth volume and concentrates on the Hawker Hunter. As Americans have their F-86 and the Russians the MiG-15, the most popular second generation jet fighter in the UK is the Hunter. The type was flown by most fighter squadrons and airframes were frequently rebuilt into other variants. The aircraft also saw considerable success with rebuilt airframes sold to many other nations. Its ease of maintenance and decent performance made it a very popular mount. Even today, there are Hunters in the skies.

This edition concentrates on the Hunter in RAF service. It starts with a history of the type and includes some period photos, but soon moves into page after page of color profiles. There are three per page with two of the pages devoted to three views of two Suez striped aircraft. All of the variants, including two seat aircraft are covered with drawings of the different versions completing the book.

Overall it is great eye candy and a nice reference for enthusiasts.
