MMP Books: German WW2 Zugkraftwagen

During WW2, the German army relied rather heavily on half tracks for their prime movers. While the UK mostly used trucks, the US used a light half track for some tasks and also trucks for others. The main difference between US and German half tracks was that the US had a front differential to power the front wheels. The Germans also used a lot of horses and where the ground permitted, also used trucks.

German half tracks were just about all designed in the years prior to the war. Many of them looked quite similar and to the uneducated eye, could not be told apart. They came in many different versions from the SdKfz 6 to the SdKfz 11 and in ranges from the 1 ton SdKfz 10 to the 18 ton SdKfz 9 'Famo'. Each of these came in different variants from those that carried troops to those that mounted a variety of weapons, each depending on their carrying capabilities.

This book is quite heavily illustrated with both high quality photographs as well as a goodly selection of full color profiles. Each section covers a history of the type and its variants with the profiles at the end of the chapter. In all, it makes for an excellet reference and modeler's guide that I know you will appreciate.
