This is the second volume in the Real Weathering series from MMP Books. It is a bit unusual for modeling books, but when combined with the first volume, it makes perfect sense. Volume 1 went through the usual plethora of weathering techniques, concentrating on military vehicles. This also makes sense as a tank or half-track with get a great deal more filthy than your standard F-16.

The initial volume is the 'how to' portion of the duo. This one is examples. Yes, it is page after page of the real deal so you can use the images as inspiration and to see just how well you can duplicate reality. It is divided into seven sections. Dirt and dust, Wheels and wheeled chassis, Engines electrical equipment and instruments, Engineer and plant vehicles, Glass and sights, Extreme rust, and Miscellaneous.

On each page are between two and six full color images showing examples from different sources on the areas for that specific chapter. I must say that the authors have really done us all a favor in this regard as one is given a multitude of examples. The majority of examples are from UK based subjects so don't expect to see all that much on T-90s or M1s.

Overall, it is a well done reference that military modelers will find to be of great benefit.
