Plans have become a staple amongst modelers and enthusiasts over the last decade or so. Kagero has been one company that has embraced this trend with a now rather extensive catalog of books that focus on this aspect of the hobby.

This particular book is part of their Top Drawings series that has become very popular with modelers. The subject this time around is the P-43 Lancer. This was part of the evolution of Seversky designed planes that started with the P-35 and led to the P-47 Thunderbolt. The P-43 was built in fairly large numbers and in a couple of variants. The main use in the US was as an advanced trainer, but it was used in combat by the Chinese, who had 100 aircraft delivered to them. The Australians also had some that they modified into photo recon aircraft and used with much success, thanks to the type's speed.

Typical of the series, when it comes to aircraft you get drawings in all the major scales. The 1/72 and 1/48 drawings cover all the variants and are within the pages of the book. Due to the size, the 1/32 and 1/24 plans are on very large fold-out sheets. You are also provided with several profiles and a four view in full color.

A very nice addition to a popular series.
