This is one of the books in Kagero's more recent series. The book provides both superb color profiles from other Kagero books along with a nice decal sheet. In the past, Kagero books were known for providing decals or photo etch or masks with their books as a bonus, but that was discontinued many years ago for various reasons. These decal sheets are not for specific aircraft but so far, have been limited to providing insignia.

This one is the beginning of a series on aircraft of the Warsaw Pact. The focus of this book is on fighters, specifically MiG fighters. You have profiles covering the MiG-15, 17, 19, and 21. The MiG-17 section covers both the standard day fighter and the radar-equipped version. The MiG-19 section, however, only has the radar equipped aircraft features. The majority of the MiG-21 section is on the early variant but does include some of the later versions. Unlike earlier books, each page has, for the most part, a single profile. Each aircraft type does have a full four view of a selected aircraft. The vast majority of the aircraft in this volume are uncamouflaged, but that is fairly typical as Warsaw Pact planes of the 50s, 60s, and 70s were unpainted metal with little more than insignia and a nose number.

The decals are as in other editions and consist of insignia. There are insignia in both 1/72 and 1/48 covering the Soviet Union and Poland, which are the feature aircraft in the book.

I anticipate that this series will do very well with modelers everywhere. The profiles in themselves are worth the asking price with the decal sheet being a bonus.
