This is one of the books in Kagero's new releases. The book provides both superb color profiles from other Kagero books along with a nice decal sheet. In the past, Kagero books were known for providing decals or photo etch or masks with their books as a bonus, but that was discontinued many years ago for various reasons. These decal sheets are not for specific aircraft but so far, have been limited to just providing insignia.

This one covers pretty much all the different variants of the P-40, from the P-40B/C until the last version, the P-40N. The variety is actually quite good with both Pacific, CBI, and North African aircraft. All of the planes presented in the profiles are USAAC or Flying Tigers. I have to guess that volume 2 will cover other nations. One thing in common with all the editions so far is a list of colors that were applied to these planes. It would have been helpful if color information was included along with the profiles, but that is not the case.

As the book is touted to include decals it does just that. In this case it is a selection of early US and Chinese roundels in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales.

I anticipate that this series will do very well with modelers everywhere. The profiles in themselves are worth the asking price with the decal sheet being a bonus.
