The next title from the Factory Publishing Company is this one on Sherman tank operations in the far east, specifically Burma. Very little has been written about this theater of operations and it is nice to see a well done book on the subject. In addition to a short historical introduction, much of the book covers the various colors and markings used by these units.

One of the biggest attractions of these books are, of course, the photographs that are the basis for a number of superb color renditions. The pictures are interesting and the book follows a rather unusual format of having most of the photos in the 'inside' of the page with captions and the rest of the write-up on the outside. It seems to work quite well. Some of the larger images have the captions written on the image and in some cases it is nearly impossible to read the captions. I do wish that editors would not do this. As mentioned, there are are several pages of excellent color profiles based on these images in the center of the book. There is also a full rundown of the units operating in the theater, the make up of a typical regiment and a chart of known WD numbers.

All in all, it makes for a superb book that is not only a great resource for the historian, but one that should provide a great deal of inspiration for the armor builder and those who want accurate dioramas.
