This book from Pen & Sword's series on military vehicles concentrates on the somewhat rare SdKfz 234/3 and 234/4 'Pakwagen'. These were built in very small numbers near the end of the war and housed some fairly large guns on an 8rad armored car. These vehicles were designed to provide infantry support and also operate in some regard as a mobile anti-tank gun.

Though not widely manufactured, they did operate in very small numbers (as in 2 or 3) with a number of units. As was often the case with German weapons, there were not enough to satify all the needs.

As is the case with other books in this series, we get a short history of the type and then a larger section on the units that operated the type. Another standard section are full color profiles, often including a photograph of the subject of said profile. Then we go into the model building section. All of the kits in this part are from Dragon and in 1/35. Other portions list kits in other scales as well as aftermarket. Then there is a section of the identifying features of the different variants of the vehicles in question.

These books where you have a mixture of history, camouflage and models are becoming more and more the norm. This one is well done, as are the other books in the series as they are by the same author. I've grown to look forward to each one as they come out. Pick one up. I know you will be pleased.
