This book covers three pre-war classes of British light cruisers; Leander, Ampion (also called modified Leander) and Arethusa class. These all saw extensive service during WWII with not only the Royal Navy but with New Zealand and Australia as well. Several of them were lost to enemy action during various engagements in both the Atlantic and the Pacific theaters of operation. These ships were mostly based on treaty limitations agreed to by many of the major powers during the inter-war periods. However, these ships proved themselves to be quite useful and went into combat with surface forces of the opposition on several occasions.

The book follows a standard format. The first quarter of it is a history of the various ship classes. This includes any combat operations in which they were involved, the most famous being the Ajax and Achilles during battle with the Graf Spee.  This is followed by a section covering various kits and accessories along with several feature builds in various scales. Several pages of plan drawings are provided and there is also a very nice section on the varied camouflage schemes carried by these ships. In addition to all this, in much of the book are some very nice and clear photographs of these ships.  In all, it is a nice addition to the series and one you should seriously consider getting this one.
