Peko's WW2 Photobook series has become very popular amongst armor enthusiasts over the years. This is the 24th edition and covers the operation of a StuG III unit on the Eastern Front from its inception until early 1943. Not surprising is a fair number of vehicles on snowy terrain as well as those stuck in mud or otherwise incapacitated.

The photos have been carefully chosen not only for image quality, but for interest as well. The full range of StuG III are covered from early war to those used at the end of the book. What probably makes these books such a treasure is that often private collections are used to illustrate them. Such is the case with this one with few coming directly from the Bundesarchives.

It is, of course, the quality and size of the images that makes this such a desirable book. The landscape format is perfect for photo books like this and I'm surprised that more books in this genre don't do that. Most highly recommended.
