This new release covers extant British interwar aircraft. For the most part, these are original airframes, though there is a reproduction or two thrown into the mix.

It is always a subject for discussion as to exactly where the fascination for returning old aircraft to flight originated, but one would have to say that the British were certainly among the first to recognize the draw of these aircraft.

The book is divided into several sections that include post WWI aircraft, early airline planes, British racing aircraft, various light aircraft (which cover a couple of sections) and pre WWII military types. The author has gathered some great photos for this edition and the book is in landscape format to take advantage of this. Many of the aircraft covered are provided with a fairly decent historical background that, for some, includes how they were restored to flying condition.

Overall, it is a well written and quite interesting book on an equally interesting subject. This is a book that should appeal to those with an interest in the period and in British warbirds in general. Well worth picking up.
