NOTES: | Vinyl Mask Set |
An accessory that has been growing in popularity over
the years are vinyl mask sets. Mostly they were used for canopy masks and have
become very popular. Another use for these have been for camouflage masks.
This is
one of several sets that Top Notch offers and it is for the Allison Mustang. The
Mustang actually got several camouflage schemes when delivered to the RAF. In
fact, Top Notch has identified five separate schemes for this type. This is the
first pattern. It includes masks for the white wing and stabilizer stripes. Also
included is a mask for the fuselage band. These items need to be painted then
masked prior to the other masks. It does not appear to include the leading edge
yellow but that is easy enough to do. You'll notice that the masks are applied
after the grey is painted in place. The set includes two sheets and I've not
shown them as they will simply look like grey-green rectangles.
These are available in all major scales with this set being in 1/48.
