NOTES: | For the KP kit |
I am one of those people who usually stays away from canopy masks. I mean, if you need to buy masks for a 1/48 P-51D, then perhaps you need to brush up on your skills or something. However, there come times when the job of masking the clear bits on planes can be daunting to say the least.
While this one isn't one of those multi-pane monsters like the Ki-67, I've grown fond of using these sorts of masks. They eliminate the fear of knife slip while trimming the tape and with sufficient light, are a simple matter to attach. Yes, they do add to the cost of the kit, but that is a choice we all have to make.
The KP UC-67 is a fairly new kit and this set takes care of the main clear bit along with the separate pieces that make up the side windows. I'm a bit surprised that Peewit couldn't find room for some wheel masks as well, but there it is. For those wondering, these are kabuki tape masks and not the vinyl ones used by some other companies.
