Montex SM48319: Ki-48 'Lilly'

An item that has become a 'must have' for many modelers are canopy masks. These are designed to fit specific kits and the benefit of these is that you don't have to cut the tape when it is on the canopy. This will help to prevent issues with the knife slipping (been there).

Montex is one of many of the folks who produce these sorts of masks and while others use paper tape, Montex chooses to use vinyl. I've used both types and it doesn't seem to make any difference. One thing is that the amount of time it takes to do this and cut on the canopy is about the same. However, you get a cleaner presentation with preformed masks.

This set is for the AZ Models 1/48 Ki-48 and is well worth the money if you are not fond of doing greenhouse canopies and multi-frame bomber noses.This set includes both inside and outside masks. I've done this in the past and it is quite time consuming to do both sides. Generally, I only do the outside and do wonder if the inside bits can fit the outside as well though in this case the inner bits seem smaller.
