| NOTES: | For the Fine Molds kit. |
Several
years ago, I purchased the Fine Molds dual kit that included both the
prototype A6M and the A6M2 model 11, the latter being the first production
variant that was built in fairly small numbers. I am at the stage of my life
when I simply don't have the eyesight or steady enough hands to cut out
small transparencies so have leaned towards locating aftermarket canopy
masks, especially when it comes to small panes as are on the Zero.
While not specifically designed for the kit that I have, I doubt there is much, if any, major difference between the first two A6Ms and the later versions when it comes to the canopy. The kit provides both open and closed canopies so Dead Design has provided separate masks for each. I'm not sure what, if anything is different between the size of the panes, but aside from the very back of the greenhouse, there are different masks for each one. The instructions provide a guide to where each pane is on the sheet and where it fits on the kit's part. This set also includes a set of wheel masks and you can either mask the tire or the wheel with liquid masking film used to cover the rest of the tire if one goes that route. These are kabuki tape masks.
