| NOTES: | Model Air acrylic paint set |

One thing that plastic modelers of any sort really need is paint. So looking as what I already had, it came to my attention that I was missing some shades. These would be for a MiG-21 I am currently working on. Normally, I would prefer AKAN paints, but when it came to sourcing them, the usual outlet in the US was out of stock of the majority of the colors I wanted.
A web search turned up this particular set from Vallejo. It contains eight different shades and base on the profiles on the back of the box, would seem to cover the colors that I was seeking. Normally I shy away from Vallejo paints as they can be problematic in terms of how well they adhere. Naturally, it will require a proper lacquer based primer, but I often primer my models like that anyway as I've found the various acrylic primers simply don't do the job. So I ordered the set.
All the paints are Model Air so they are airbrush ready. Vallejo suggests using their flow enhancer to keep it from clogging the air brush, so we'll have to see how well the paint works without it. According to the box, you get golden reddish brown, underside grey blue, green ochre, green(3), yellow sand, beige(1), underside faded blue and dark green. However, my set was missing the green(3) and had a second bottle of green ochre. Since I seriously doubt if Vallejo would send me the missing color, I had to order it from an on-line seller which cost me an additional $10. Speaking of which, from looking at various on-line sellers, you can get all 8 bottles separately for $3 each which means that buying the colors individually is actually less expensive that getting the set.
I'm looking forward to seeing how well the paint performs and do hope it won't be disappointing.
