Italeri 1/72 Desert Well and Tents

Italeri is a prolific manufacturer of model kits. They produce kits of AFV’s, aircraft, ships, cars, trucks, figures and diorama sets in the various popular scales. Their US distributor is Model Rectifier Corp. (MRC) based in Edison, NJ.

The kit comes in a shrink wrapped end-opening type box that has the flaps held shut with round pieces of tape.

The box art shows the 2 tents, the fire pit and the well assembled and painted. The box art is to be used as your painting guide. It also says the kit is new molds and that the kit contains a total of 33 parts.

The back of the box serves as the assembly instructions. It also shows photos of the parts trees and Italeri’s address in Bologna, Italy. The kit is designed for modelers 10 and above and has a copyright date of 2010.

Inside the box are 3 light gray parts trees in a sealed cello bag. There is a sheet that has “Important information concerning this kit” on one side in 20 languages including English. The reverse side of this sheet has a customer service coupon on it in 6 languages including English.

There are 2 identical large gray trees that each hold: a tent’s roof, sides, end flaps and support poles, a camp fire pit and it’s tri-pod shaped wood kettle support (12 parts each)

The 3rd smaller gray tree holds: the water well base and sides and a water jug suspended from wood over-well supports (9 parts)

I highly recommend this kit to both wargamers and general modelers of 1/72nd scale.
