Someone once said you can’t have enough Phantom kits. Funnily enough I agree.

That is why I was happy when Hi Decal announced more Phantom decals.

This new sheet (in both 72nd and 48th scale) are for 3 F-4E’s and one RF-4E of the Turkish Air Force .

Instructions are typical for a Hi Decal line decals sheet, printed in black and white, on a A4 sheet of paper. The instructions are clear and the colours are given in Federal Standard codes, as well as Humbrol and Model Master numbers.

All the aircraft depicted on this sheet are adorned with either a sharkmouth or some form of tail art. Both the shark mouth decals as well as the tail art are printed very clear with a minimum of carrier film and are in register. The stencilling is clear and is in both Turkish and English.

The RF-4E depicted on this sheet was shot down by a Syrian SAM on June 22nd 2012. This aircraft has a different paint scheme than the F-4E’s on this sheet. It also is one of 18 modernized RF-4ETM aircraft.

Hi Decal recommends you use the Hasegawa and Revell Phantoms for both the 72nd and 48th  scale sheets. The Monogram Pro Modeller is also an option for the F-4E as this is essentially a reboxed Hasegawa F-4E. (Editor's Note: the ProModeler kit is Vietnam era, unslatted F-4E so it probably not appropriate for the slatted F-4Es that are shown on the sheet.)

My thanks to Diego at Hi Decal for sending me this sample.

Hi Decal is carried by most (if not all) online retailers.

Now if I can only fond my 48th scale RF-4E somewhere…..
